Quartz - Fluid Heater Quartz - Gas Heater SiC - HF & KOH Heater

SiC vs Teflon: While Teflon is a good material for chemical and temperature resistance, it is a poor material for use in any heating application. Its thermal conductivity is a approximately 1/5 that of quartz and its mechanical properties make it a poor choice for coupling to any type of heater element. This means that heaters using Teflon fluid paths suffer from poor efficiency and/or reliability. Failures are often accompanied by process contamination when the material is compromised and the chemical comes in contact with the heater element.
Silicon Carbide (SiC) has excellent heat transfer properties and eliminates the risk of contamination due to Teflon breakdown .

Power Modulator: Imtec’s proprietary power modulator ensures that the exact amount of heat for any process is applied- no more, no less. During initial heat-up, the rate of heat transfer gradually decreases with time. When the rate of heat transfer bottoms out, the power modulator turns the heater off, allowing the heat built up in the SiC to disperse into the liquid.

Turning off the heater when it isn’t needed means that there is no wasted energy, and no undue stress on components caused by over-heating. Imtec’s proprietary technology ensures minimal heat-up times with an efficient use of energy for any application.
