Interface Module for PFA Coated Baths- In PFA-coated Stainless Steel baths, the different heat transfer rates for PFA and stainless steel can cause problems. The heat from the heating element will easily transfer through the stainless steel, but it will be absorbed into the PFA at a much slower rate. As a result, heat will build up in the stainless steel without heating the chemistry and will cause delamination, or bruising of the PFA coating.

Imtec’s proprietary Interface Module measures the temperature of the stainless steel to determine when the maximum amount of heat that can be transferred through the Teflon coating has been applied. At that point, the heater drops out, allowing time for the built-up heat in the stainless steel to reach the chemistry. This system eliminates wasteful overuse of heaters and prevents high temperatures that ruin the PFA coating and cause unneeded stress on other components.
